Clinical supervision is a requirement for licensure. LPC-Associates must complete 3000 supervised hours before applying for full licensure. 1500 hours must be direct client hours (sessions, intake assessments, etc.) The other 1500 hours can be indirect (documentation, researching, trainings, etc). The state of Texas requires a minimum of four (4) hours per month of supervision. No more than 50% of supervision can be completed in a group setting. Rules are subject to change and this is just a simple summary of some of the requirements.
